How can the transtheoretical model (TTM) and community readiness model (CRM) be used to reduce teen pregnancy?
What are some goals to reduce teen pregnancy?
Transtheoritical model(TTM).
These model is used to change the behaviour or intension of a person that can be done in 5 steps, they are:-
* Precontemplation:- This means showing the persons their mistakes and explaining the outcomes of the mistake. So when applying this process for teenage pregnancy, the person should explain their works and their consequently step by step in an understandsble way.
* Contemplation:- After explaining the consequences you should give her time to think seriously herself to make a perfect decision about her future and having teenage sex, etc.
* Preparation:- Let her make the decision properly and also teach her to stay prepared for next steps.
* Action:- Let her take an action, that means to stay far from the sex in this case.
* Maintenance:- Maintain this distance with the sex and wait fir the correct time that means an enough age.
Community readiness model(CRM).
This model defines 9 stages of readiness used in any issues. That includes 1. No awarenss, 2. Denial, 3. Vague awareness, 4. Pre-planning, 5. Preparation, 6. Initiation, 7. Stabilization, 8. Expansion, 9. Professionalisation.
By step-by-step explaination of this steps with correlating their condition may helps to change their behaviour and decisions related to anything including teenage pregnancy prevention.
Goal to reduce teenage pregnancy:-
* Abstinence.
* Delaying sex.
* Providing Information about consequences like anaemia,preclampsia,premature delivery,etc.
* Programs like:-
- Comprehensive sex education.
- Youth development.
- Service learning.
- Combinations thereof,etc.
These arevthe main goals to prevent teenage pregnancy.
