A project management methodology is a set of guiding rules and regulations for managing a project. It is otherwise called as PMM. It is the first decision one will make as a project manager. There are different types of PMMs. Each one has it's own pros and cons. Following are the various types of Project Management Methodologies:

1. Waterfall: It is the most adopted principle and the oldest method. Waterfall method is seqential and it is requirement-focused. In this method, your are starting by collecting, analyzing and designing the solution and also implementing it.

2. Agile: It is another method which favors a fast and flexible approach. There is no top heavy requirement.

3. Hybrid: It is the combination of waterfall and agile methods. It focuses on gathering and analysing requirements firstly.

4. Scrum: This approach places the team first.Often, there is no project manager. So, the team is self-organizing and managing.

5. Critical Path Method: In this approach, all the activities are categorized and work breakdown structure.
