A survey research is methodology for collecting data through a brief interview and discussion with individuals.

On of survey is a way of asking people to answer certain multiple choice questions or essay questions through questionnaire.

Other method include interview where an individual have to answer posed by interviewer . Questions are designed in such a way that required data is collected.

The most used method of survey is a mix of interview and discussion where both way communication is allowed to an extent on specific topic. This duscussion brings out relevant information that can be used to reach the conclusion.

One example of survey is giving a questionnaire in public trains related to interest in football. It has questions about how much time one devote to play football or watch it on television. Data collected can be used to revise the strategy to increase the football penetration as a sport.
