Yes, there should be a wall of separation between church and state.
This is because state’s recognition of religion should not express any bias and should not support any particular religion and its doctrines. Also as per the First Amendment's Establishment Clause the state is prohibited from passing laws that is concerned with the establishment of a religion. The Establishment Clause also does not allow legislatures to make or pass any law that will prohibit the free exercise of any religion.
As such there should be a wall of separation between church and state to ensure that government cannot make law to favor any particular religion. People have the right to free expression of religious beliefs and this right of individual citizens can be upheld only if there is a wall of separation between church and state.
