Describe key strategies for reducing the transmission of infectious diseases.
1) Hygiene: be careful anout hygeine, wash your hands, avoid using dirty publich washroom etc.
2) Food: Dont buy unpasteurized milk, expired items, open/tempered items; be smart about cooking, undercooked meat, unwashed vegetables are common sources of infection, do not drink un clean water, dont each spoiled food etc.
3) Be smart about protection during sexual intercouse: STDs are also infectious diseases and are communicable, using protection is important to prevent getting infected with STDs.
4) Vaccination: get vaccinated to prevent contracting infections
5) If you are infected, avoid going out as you are a source of infection and can infect other people, stay home and get better.
6) overusing over the counter antibiotics can produce resistant bacterial species.
7) for reducing insect borne-diseases keep your environment clean, use agents that can kill these insects
8) when in a hospital or a highly infected population, cover yourself, take precautions
