Data collection is the process of gathering and analysing information collected from a targeted population in a proper system. Data collection is adopted by every fields of study they collect raw data and transform them into useful information. Quality data collection can be used in formulating credible answers to many questions raised.

The main objective of data collection also includes proving right information to the users by maintaining accuracy and quality control measures thus the collector can give a reasonable assurance over the data collected by them. While at the same time by trying to maintain its reputation in proving right information with the data collected, integrity of the data collected is always at question. While collecting data errors can be intensional or non intensional therefore the integity of the data collected should be clean and perfect.

There are various diffferent ways to collect datas like Questionnaires, surveys, records etc.Data collection can be badly affected by factors such as use of language, ethics, cost and privacy issues. The type of research data you collect may affect the way you manage that data.

By using reliable data resources and by using automated and computerisd programs the efficiency and accuracy of data collection process can be improved.
