The features and benefits of shampoo product that will motivate customers my product over competitors are elaborated. Price wise my product is slightly low than competitors. As this is a new product, and customers do not know much about product quality, I introduce small and large sizes of products to allure customers to try small sized shampoo and later purchase big size shampoo. Small sized shampoo product is affordable for middle and low income group of customers. Therefore, I introduced different sizes and different prices that are kept low than the competitors. As the company sells FMCG products in the market such as soaps and hand wash products, the brand name is familiar to local people. They can relate the quality of shampoo with soaps and hand wash of the company they currently use. Therefore, brand name of the shampoo is known to them. As far as convenience factor, I will distribute the products to the local distributor network in my area. Already soaps and hand wash are selling through retailer shops. Thus, the same distribution network is used and shampoo product availability will be ensured for the customers. FMCG products are low involvement products due to low cost and customers prefer to purchase it from local stores. Thus, shampoo product will be easily available to them. Word of mouth or viral marketing is also benefitting this new product as the soaps and hand wash products are quite popular among the customers. Customers can surely spread the news of shampoo products to their friends and family. This can help the company to gain free mouth of publicity that once again helps to beat the competitor’s offerings. The other features such as quality and packaging of product are kept at market standard. Currently, what the competitors offer, according to that quality and packaging, shampoo products are provided. Customers feel affiliation due to good quality provided in the soaps and hand wash therefore, they can definitely try this new product. The plus point of beating competitors with the shampoo products are good brand recognition in the target customers, viral marketing, and a low price.
