Expert Solution

Gene mutations are change taking place in the sequence of a gene it may be a deletion, insertion,or translocation or a small change of single base pair.

We know that genes are the functional unit of life. They process many functions.where these gene functions by the production of protein. Each gene in a genome have different function.Due to some cause mutation occurs in functional gene which leads to improper protein formation so that in our body there is change in response by causing disease.

The severity of disease based on mutation and location. If the mutation occurs in the somatic cell the rate will be depend upon the person only.if germ cells undergoes mutations they pass to their children ,so that human disease can be inherited from generation to generation.

Due to external sources like environment, Or in DNA replication or transcription leads to mutation. If mutation is there directly it connects to human disease.
