a) Challenges of managing project teams when all team members are not in same physical location:

• There will be difficulty in collaborating and sharing ideas.
• Digital media such as emails, telephones and video calls have to be used for communication purposes.
• It will be difficult to monitor team members whether the tasks assigned and deadlines are complied to or not.
• Meetings upon reaching project milestones and for further course of action have to be conducted through video conferences. Internet facility at each of the project members location has to be good to enable a smooth meeting.
• It is difficult to give feedback and take course corrective action if certain deliverables of the project are not meeting the schedule.

b) Characteristics to be possessed by successful candidate for role of project manager:

• Must have leadership skills and ability to manage, lead and guide project team members.
• Good knowledge of project management processes, tools and softwares and having past experience of using them.
• Good knowledge of project finance.
• Good communication and soft skills and ability to communicate confidently with clients.
• Ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines.
