Fitness is quantitative representation of natural and sexual selection. It can be defined in relation to genotype and phenotype. It also describes individuals reproductive success which is equal to the average contribution to gene pool. In asexual reproduction fitness can be assigned to genotypes. In sexual reproduction it can assigned to allele.
Genetic variation is defined as variation in the DNA sequence in each of genome. They occur once in every 300 bases.
Variation is found in the DNA between genes. Its explanation is DNA is hereditary material of cell which is found in chromosomes in the nucleus. A gene is small segment of DNA which is found in small segment of chromosome. Along DNA base sequences provide the code for building different types of proteins which determine particular features. Slight differences in sequence of base make up a gene called Allel and these cause variation in phenotype. These differences lead to genetic variation in individuals.
