Since Decision Matrix is measurable and an easy method to enhance making decisions that are based on the rating and scoring, they can be used to achieve alignment within a company. This is the way that the firm’s ideas should align with the company’s strategies for production. This is because the matrix can enable us to use different criteria and also make comparisons between different choices, based on these standards. An example of this function is where an organization may be facing a dilemma on how to implement the latest technology in its production process.
What was the most challenging part of applying this matrix to the final project?
The most difficult part of implementing the matrix in the final project was in the implementation. This is since matrix may lead to a power struggle within an organization. This is so because the essence of a matrix is to create a dual command, and this calls for a balance of power within an organization.
What recommendations would you make to change your project, given some of the challenges you faced?
My recommendation is that there should be a friendly competition within the organization, to prevent the problem of power struggle from occurring. Therefore, this calls for managers in a matrix to push for their advantages but not to aim at eliminating those with whom they share power. They should always have a perspective that encompasses both parties.
