GRIT
Growth (mindset):
a propensity to seek and consider new ideas, alternatives, approaches, and fresh perspectives. This component not only encourages individuals to be open-minded and curious; it also fosters a spirit of exploration and a willingness to simply “do more,” to devote the extra time and energy it takes to stretch oneself, even in situations of adversity or significant challenge.
Resilience:
the capacity to not only bounce back from adversity or failure but also to deal with adversity constructively, turning an unsuccessful experience into “fuel” for increasing one’s effort in the next attempt. Resilience enables individuals to endure setbacks, to try again harder, and to keep seeking solutions. It develops the mindset that taking risks, facing adversity, or tackling anything difficult is more meaningful, more intrinsically motivating, and ultimately more rewarding than simply performing the minimum amount of work or taking on only what is easy in life or school.
• Instinct:
the innate desire to pursue the worthiest goals in the smartest ways. This component reveals one’s capacity to harness past experiences and information gathered from others, to think critically, and to solve problems strategically. It encourages creativity, agility, and practicality in working toward goals.
• Tenacity:
persistence toward the goal, in spite of difficulty or discomfort. This component also involves the ability to delay gratification, to repeatedly marshal focused energy and effort, and to willingly exhibit passionate personal commitment to a goal.
As an accounting major and graduating senior, Apply GRIT
Reflect on your GRIT in relation to your pending accounting degree
1. Which aspect of GRIT has served you best so far?
2. Which area of GRIT do you want to improve most?
3. How will you use GRIT to reach your career goal?
1. Which aspect of GRIT has served you best so far?
Answer:- Resilience, the aspect of GRIT which I served best from past. Because when I met with a failure and slip into great depression, I just analyse my past days of experience and try to identify the reasons for my failure. And then I will check whether there are any solutions to get rid of them in my next attempt to success. There by using past experiences of mistakes, like a fuel I increased my effort towards my goal and got succeded in acheiving what I want to acheive.
2. Which area of GRIT do you want to improve most?
Answer:- Instinct, the aspect of GRIT which I want to improve. To survive in the present dynamic and competative world we should think completely in a different way. Even though we think for a answer just like a common student what differs myself from that student. We should be unique. our answer, our way of thingking, way of analsying question or a case study, way of answering..every thing should be differnet and should be unique. So we have to thing smartly, uniqely and moreever stratigically. I have to develop Instinct from now to be unique.
3. How will you use GRIT to reach your career goal?
Answer:-
I use Growth aspect in GRIT, to chage my mind set in such a way that, if I choose a goal, I should not get aside from that goal untill it was acheived. Even I face any difficulty and any adverse situation I still fix to my goal. And I will try to expand my goal if I reach what I have fixed without relaxing.
I use Resilience aspect of GRIT, for thinking myself not to stop the race, use past failure experiences, analse it to identify the problem and get solution for it. If possible not to repeate the mistake which I have done in past and it was one of the reason form my failure, and apply those solutions to the problems which will be faced in nearby future in my journey towards goal.
I use Instinct aspect of GRIT, to do work in diferent way, which is almost unique, that diferes my self with my competitor. Only then I can survive in the every changing environment. I do my work staretigically and also creatively in a smarter way rather than harder way.
I use Tenacity aspect of GRIT, to motivate my self, to be in the game. even though it is very dfficult or make me irritate some times.
" Untill I acheve my goal I should be in the game facing all these internal problems like dicomfort, difficulty and external problems like competetors, other problems etc..."
