QUESTION 2

You are a new faculty member at a local college. You have heavy teaching load and also required to conduct research. So you decided to combine teaching and research by implementing several interactive techniques in the classroom. You want to go beyond traditional teaching and encourage students to use higher order thinking based on the competencies you have developed for the class. At the end of the semester, you plan to evaluate the effectiveness of combining research activities in teaching and compare it to the traditional teaching technique. Plan a qualitative research design that includes a theoretical framework, research purpose, research questions, variables (and how they will be measured), methodology, data collection, analysis, representation, ethical issues, limits, and possibilities.

Expert Solution

Qualitative research design :

The qualitative research is very essential in the education sector because by qualitative research you can put so many questions to understand the real experience in your education research. It depends on you how many questions you asks because asking questions can allow you reach at the right answer and enhance your skills and knowledge. As I am new in this college so have to make effective qualitative research design so that I can combine the research activities in teaching and able to opt for new method of teaching techniques as compared to traditional methods of teaching where extra time is required to do the research works.

Now by this new method of teaching I can perform my both the duties effectively in which the students get benefited and this will be compared at the end of this semester if this new technique worked or not.

For the research work the qualitative technique and quantitative techniques both are required to analyse the data but for my research work it only required the qualitative research where the quality of the research is analysed and compared with the traditional techniques teaching.

For this qualitative research design so many questions to asked and this question should be related to your research topic after that the researcher will examine your knowledge and work. All research work should be performed at right way and at right path for combining the research work with teaching will be very much helpful for the students and teachers and this theoretical framework will help you identify what data collection and analysis method to be used and if these methods will work or not. This research design will help you understand if this new teaching technique strengths and overcome its weakness.

The qualitative research helps us understand about what's the reality is and how we gain knowledge about our research. The qualitative research helps us differentiate the reality and fact and it is totally based on the experience we gain like the reality is the traditional technique of teaching is continuing from years but to make some changes and adoption of new techniques will not be easy we have to prove that it will work then only the people will involved in it.

Thus by analysing and collection of data by qualitative research method works only this is that the evidence is required for the achievement of the desired goals and objectives of the research so the new generation can get benefited with this new techniques of teaching.
