explain how nuclear transplantation can be used to clone animals.
This process was initially referred to as nuclear transplantation, and is now referred to as nuclear transfer. In this method, the donor nucleus would be relocated in a target cell which has previously been enucleated- removal of nucleus. This allows the embryologist to manipulate the organism’s development. This technique had been first used for development of the first mammal clone “Dolly” the sheep. This had been done by Ian Wilmut in the year 1996.
In this technique m the nucleus us taken from an early stage embryo an is transplanted in an unfertilised egg. This egg had already been enucleated. Egg cell is then pricked with glass like clean needle for inducing response that soulful be fertilisation like. This leads to a pseudo fertilisation activation which would be allowing the nuclear material activation. This would also allow for the activation of the host egg cell.
In the meanwhile, donor host cell gets extracted and would be activated. The process would be inducing host egg cell’s development, on the basis of the nucleus that has already been inserted. The organism would be having the same material as that of the donor cells in the form of a clone.
