Case Study: COVID-safeguard System COVID-19 is a pandemic which is causing social, economic and health issues for the whole world. Many governments around the world are using advanced technologies to prevent COVID-19 outbreaks in their countries. For example, some of these advanced technologies are use of CCTV cameras to monitor people movements, drones to warn people to use face masks and mobile apps to track the social contact among people. Let’s assume that you are working as a system analyst and your key skills are to design and develop information systems. Australian government has contacted you to develop an information system to collect information to help reduce the spread. The system can be called as COVID-19 safeguard. The main aims of COVID-19 safeguard information system are to identify clusters of infected areas, monitor quarantines, and educate people about social distancing and maintaining hygiene. The overarching goal of this project is to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 among people. The information system should use advanced technologies such as CCTV cameras, drones, mobile signals such as Bluetooth, mobile phone data (i.e., location, date, time etc.) or any other technology that you think will be helpful in the design of this system. Answer the following question: Question. Identify any five use cases and write a brief use case description for each use case.
Use Cases Of COVID-safeguard
System:
1. Registration of all the citizens
The COVID-safeguard System application may first allow registration
of the citizens and track their movement across the country. This
will enable the government to trace the primary and secondary
contacts easily if the person is covid positive.
2. Monitoring quarantines:
The government will want to monitor the quarantines to check upon
the treatment and facilities provided in the quarantine centers.
Also the social distancing norms and hygiene conditions in the
quarantine centers can be easily monitored. The availability of
beds and fair means of bed allocation can be ensured.
3. Spreading awareness:
The application can be used to spread awareness about the disease
by regular notifications through the app. The application can alert
the people about the number of active cases in their locality. Also
the application can have provisions to contact local authority in
case of covid emergency.
4. Zoning areas:
Since the application already tracks people and their movements, it
has an updated list of all the covid positive patients and their
locations. If there are too many patients in a particular area then
that area can be declared a containment zone. Monitoring of zones
becomes easy with this application.
5. Health Status
The application can take input from a user about his health daily
and in case of any similarity to the covid symptoms the user is
alerted and adviced self isolation. Also the application can alert
a user if they have come in close contact with any person that has
been reported covid positive or if the user has been to a redzone
area recently. Everything is tracked and the displayed on the
health meter.
