Why is surgical integrity important when dealing with patient care?

Surgeons are bound to have integrity to remain firm in the
execution of the surgical act and also in the patient care .
Integrity leads to respect, which in turn leads to the
understanding and agreement with the patient.
The Surgical integrity is important because there are many factors
that increase the risk of patients during and immediate post
operative surgery. So there is a need of surgical professionalism
to provide quality care to patients. The teamwork and professional
integrity reduces the risk of patient getting more infections.
Surgicalinfections are increasing after postoperative stays and
leads to higher readmission rates and increase in health care cost
and poorer health outcomes. Inoder to avoid these problems surgical
integrity in Patient care is important
An example of surgical integrity in America involves a surgery
conducted by Kentuckian surgeon master Ephraim McDowell .
He conducted surgery against all odds, in the backwoods of
undeveloped Kentucky, he performed in 1809 the first successful
abdominal operation in the world .
