25-year-old Pima Indian female has come to the ED c/o nausea, vomiting, dehydration, tachycardia, tachypnea, and jaundice.
1. As an ED nurse what will be your first interventions in care?
2. What questions would you ask about personal and medical history? Would questions be appropriate to ask about culture, if so what kind of questions? Show in detail.
3. What diagnostic tests and lab tests would be expected to be completed? Give the ranges of the test and what to expect.

Answers :- 1)Intervation :- to correct dehydration and control nausea,vomiting.So at first saline line has to be provided contain 0.9% NS.
2)What to ask in Personal history :- -Lifestyle -Alcohol consumption -Nutrition
Medical history :- -Drugs for tachycardia or tachypnea if any taken earlier,Any treatment going on for jaundice,any other disease associated with proper prescription details if any.
To ask about culture is necessary to know the type of diseases prevalent in that culture.For the same reason Religion is asked while taking history.
3)Diagnostic tests and Lab tests :- -CBC,-Liver Function Test,ECG,Kidney Function Test,Stool and Urine Examination.Depending on the stage of jaundice,various results may come.
4)If Liver is damaged then a liver transplant surgery may occur.
5)To have a good lifestyle.Avoid consumption of alcohol and have nutritious diet.
6)Head to Toe assesment :-Eyes yellowish sclera due to jaundice,skin yellowish,body shrinken due to dehydration,trebling of hands may be present.
7)The patient has to be admitted in the ward.
