What are the main differences between primary and second sources? When would you use them? Secondly, what goes into a verbal citation? Why would this be important in a speech
Primary sources are more related to personal or first hand accounts or knowledge that the person has. Second sources are inherently different as it does not have relation with personal experience and therefore are not a primary source. Newspaper articles, Prior researches and information from other forms of media are some of the examples of secondary sources. Primary sources are to used to give a personal touch to the material. Anecdotal experience can also be used as primary source to give a personal touch to the material. Secondary sources can be used to add more depth to the material. Verbal citations are used when we are taking use of some outside research to add more depth to our study. A verbal citation has to include the author's name, source, date of publication, and name of the article. They are important in speech to avoid plagiarism and add credibility to the work that has been performed.
