Difference between stretch assignment and job rotation
When an employee is transferred to a temporary job for a fixed period of time either in the same department or in totally different department and asked to do the different job, it is known as job rotation. Job rotation allows the employee to acquire new skills. In stretch assignment, employee is only assigned a different and challenging task but in Job rotation employee is transferred to a whole new job for a fixed period of time.
