Expert Solution

C.L.E.A.R. goals stands for Collaborative, limited, emotional, appreciable, refinable goals. EMOTIONS are believed to be important as they can serve to "tap into the passions of employees" and "optimize the quality of work". I agree with this view. Positive emotions play a very important role in the quality of work that one delivers. Emotional involvement of a person is extremely important for the achievement of a specific goal. Employers can emotionally involve employees by communicating them how achievement of specific goals is in their best interest, this will made employees fully committed towards achieving best possible outcome. Emotions of a person have a very significant impact on a person's decision making skills, job performance, team spirit, etc. Positive emotions always leads to higher job satisfaction & more commitment towards the organization while negative emotions results in dissatisfaction with the job. So, emotional involvement while achieving a goal is of utmost importance. So, goals of the organization must be framed in such a manner that they appeal to employee's emotions & motivates them towards their achievement. I have personally experienced that positive emotions have always boosted my quality of work while negative emotions like anger, trust issues, etc. have a negative impact on my work performance & reduced my quality of work.
