According to the goal setting theory, the type of goals which are
likely to be associated with high level of performance are specific
and challenging goals along with proper feedback of them, which can
contribute to higher and better task performance. Specific and
challenging goals are always associated with high level of
performance because if any person is given a specific and
challenging goes then he focuses his full energy on that particular
goal giving his hundred percent of energy in achieving that goal
which ultimately leads to high level of performance.

I totally agree with his statement regarding performance appraisal
system because if a performance appraisal system is applied in the
right way it is surely going to deliver good results for the
organization in terms of goals and directions of the employees and
the points where employees needs to improve the performance. The
evidence of this can be seen from the fact that most of the
companies adopt a good performance appraisal system to review the
performance of the employee. Companies regularly review the
appraisal of the employees in order to improve the performance of
the employee and increase the overall productivity of the
organization towards their achievement of the goals.
