Expert Solution

Goals are final objectives of a company that guides its directions and operations. Goals are the forwards looking targets set up by the organisation to guide the individuals, departments and organization as a whole in manging the efforts and activities to achieve common goals. Without any goals their will not be any direction for employees to work. No Goals means no Direction and if employees work without direction, there will be no internal coordination.

Therefore Goa setting pays an important role in an organization. It helps in-

  1. Internal coordination- Clear cut goals and objectives make employees clear on their work and duties and help in reduction of duplicate work and wasteful activities. Production and operational level efficiency can only be achieved through internal cooperation.
  2. Motivation- Goals make the employees learn about their objectives which drives their actions. It helps employees to keep motivated towards the work through inspiration and group objectives.
  3. Competition- Effective Goals distinguish a company from its competitors. Companies wanted to achieve their objective set gaols and always work for different position than its competitors which is supported by Goals.
