2) situations when a nurse can function independently :
Independent nursing interventions are those sanctioned by professional nursing practice .they do not require direction or an order from another health care professionals.
* giving a patient a pillow for abdominal comfort or support after surgery.
* teaching or encouraging the patient deep breathing for relaxation or oxygen saturation.
* teaching the patient about their recovery process , teaching or explaining regarding their medicines to them, teaching or explaining regarding their recovery process at home.
Situations when a nurse must immediately collaborate with health care provider :
* managing the emergency situations like patient having cadiac arrest or sudden respiratory arrest
* adminstering a medication to a patient
* performing an admission assessment
3) licensure
It is the states grant of legal authority ,pursuant to the states police powers, to practice a profession within a designated scope of practice.under licensure system, states define, by statute, the tasks and function , ,roles and responsibilty or scope of practice of a profession and provide that these tasks may be legally performed only by those who are licensed. Licensure also prohibits anyone from practicing the profession who is not licensed, regardless of whether or not the individual has been certified by a private organization.
Certification.
certification is a process by whicha non governmental organization grants recognitiom to an individual who has met predetermined qualifications specified by that organization. Or certification is a process, often voluntary, by which individuals who have demonstrated the level of knowledge and skill required in the profession, occupation, role, or skill are identified to the public and other stakeholders.
essential in nursing:
A professional license in nursing is very because it sets minimum qualifications and competencies and provides assurance to the public that predetermined standards have been met. It is very much essential that nurses become certified because it demonstrates that they have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide high quality care to patients and as well as to their families.certification shows that nursing is a profession that cares about safety, quality, and excellence of health care delivery.licensure and certification can serve as a level for ensuring that practicing health care professionals meet specific standards and continue to maintain competence in a given content area.
