In a hypothetical case-control study, researchers are interested in exploring the activities and behaviors of individuals at Northwestern University that may be associated with increased risk for testing positive for COVID-19.
a. What inclusion and exclusion criteria would you use? Why?
b. Define who is considered a case. How might you identify cases?
c. Carefully define who is in the control group. How might you accurately identify control individuals?
d. For the case-control study, how would you collect information on activities and behaviors?
e. Discuss how cases and controls in your study might differ, besides disease status, and how this might bias the results.
ANSWER.
A) Criteria I would use:-
* II will include number of cases in their area.
* Does he talk or move closely with any covid patients.
* Did you go gir covid test.
* Did he get positive ?, If what self care has been taken,etc.
I would exclude unsual things if involved in his sentences.
I would use only these things because this can provide the information needed from him.
B) Case.
The person who is tested corona positive is considered as case. I saw many cases in the hospital,where I am a working as a doctor. I usually see 5 to 6 covid patients per day in my hospital.
C) Control group:-
This is used to establish cause-and-effect relationship by isolating the effect of independent variable. More than 1 treatment group can stay in these control group.
We can identify them by their uniforms.
D)
Before few days we do not have a single case in village but till today there are 8 positive Cases are there in my village.
In those days people used to be alive eceb after the corona. But nowadays chances for death has been increased. Many deaths also took place in my village.
For controlling the diseases many measures like wearing masks, sanitization, 6 feet distance, queues,etc ate taken nowadays unlike before.
