The concept of locus of control was developed by Julian B Rotter in 1954, and has since became an aspect of personality psychology. Locus of control is the degree to which a person has external forces that should be out of their influence and control over the outcome of incidents that happens in their personal life.
Internal loctus
In this an individual is believing that he can control his own life. For example, If a person who has strong internal loctus failed in his first love. He tend to praise or blame himself for what happened in his life.This group of peoples have strong internal locus of control. People with internal loctus tend to feel happier and they experience less stress in their life.Generally, they are more satisfied in life
These goup of individuals have improved information acqisition
self -efficacy
job effectiveness and higher achievement
OVERALL, THEY HAVE GOOD DECISION MAKING CAPACITY
External locus
If a person who has strong external locus failed in relationship he tend to praise or blame external factors such as parents, friends, or quality of life as a reason of his failure. These type of people keep themselves in a situation where they will experience excessive stress and they are more susceptable to depression. They believe that opportunities and other individuals and events that determines their destiny

Locus of control can influence not only how we respond to events that happens in your life but also your motivation
