Please explain what would have been their chance of survival 100 years ago with Escherichia coli (E.Coli)? What was the chance of survival 30 years ago for someome with Escherichia coli (E.Coli) ?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Escherichia coli is gram negative, facultative anerobes, rod shaped coliform bacterium stay in Human's Large Intenstine.

Some strains are virulent causes disease etc.

Now come to the condition first of 100yrs.::--

100yrs ago that time medicines and other therapeutic things or tools were not developed. So we can think that immune adaptation must be there to fight from disease. That time man was strong because nature had not lost its identity as well as everything was Good no pollution and so many things. E.coli which stays in Human's Intenstine also according to that environment and due to increased strength of immunity of human being.. Virulent type of E.coli could not hurt human being.

But,Now come to the point of 30yrs ago::--

As human now had been become more developed from 100yrs back to 30yrs back and nature got harm from human being exploitation. Population and medicines as well as pollution so many things are on severe stage. Now human is weak than previous 100yrs back environment. Now E.coli has same strength power as it has 100yrs back so it is strong and virulent type can create disease of gastroenteritis ,Urinary tract infection etc. So this 30yrs back has less chances of survival of somebody(man) .wit E.coli than previous case of 100yrs back. Here we have to take care of many factors: population, pollution, antibiotic, medicines etc.

Summary is

1.)100yrs more chances(nature was maintained so human has good immune system)

2). 30yrs Less chances(nature altered, human being got weakness in its immunity).

Studies have shown that people who suffer sudden cardiac arrest have a better chance of survival if a defibrillator shock is administered very soon after cardiac arrest. How is survival rate related to the time between when cardiac arrest occurs and when the defibrillator shock is delivered? The accompanying data give y = survival rate (percent) and x = mean call-to-shock time (minutes) for a cardiac rehabilitation center (in which cardiac arrests occurred while victims were hospitalized and so the...

A researcher believes that in recent years women have been getting taller. Ten years ago, the average height of young adult women living in his city was 63 inches. The standard deviation is not known. He randomly samples eight young adult women currently residing in the city and measures their heights. The sample data obtained is: [64, 66, 68, 60, 62, 65, 66, 63]. Use a significance level of alpha=0.05 to test if women are now taller.
