2. Next, tell me a bit about Neanderthals, and why they are more intelligent and social than stereotypes that exist in popular culture (think Geico commercials, cavemen, etc).

Ans1 )The variation among several species of (based on the geological dates) recent human species that do NOT include neanderthals are:-

Homo habilis

• Are first human-like beings creatures
• Discovery- fossils discovered by Louis S.B. Leakey and his wife Mary Leakey in 1960 from Pleistocene rocks of East Africa
• Brain capacities were between 650-800cc ( cranial capacity).
• Probably did not eat meat.
• Also known as Skillful man, or the tool maker.

Homo erectus

• Their fossils were first discovered about 1.5 mya (million years ago) in middle Pleistocene from Java.
• Had a larger brain capacities around 900cc.
• Probably ate meat.
• Also hunted big game and knew the use of fire.
• Also known as Erect man.

Ans 2) Neanderthals also known as Homo sapiens neanderthalsis.

They are considered more intelligent and social than others because of the following reasons:-

• Neanderthals lived in near east Asia between 1,00,000-40,000 years back.
• They had a brain size of 1300-1600cc ​​, which was maximum among all the species.
• Also they are considered more social because, Neanderthals used hides to protect their body.
• ​​​​​​Specialized not only as skilled hunter but true predator ( a specialization that did not occur among hominids before or after them).
• They also buried their dead back.
