Determine the quantity of sodium chloride that is required to make the following prescription isotonic.
Rx Apomorphine Hydrpchloride...................1%
Sodium chloride..................................q.s
Purified water ad.................................100 mL
Make isoton. sol. Tf 1% of Apomorphine Hydrpchloride= 0.08 C
Answer:-0.76 grams of sodium chloride is required
In a simple way
E value of amomorphine hydrochloride=0.14
1%amomorphine hydrochloride =1%=1/100*100= 1 gr
so 0.14*1=0.14grams of Nacl represented by amomorphine hydrochloride.
0.009 gr of sodium chloride basical weight
so 100*0.009=0.9 gr of Nacl in 100 ml of isotonic solution.
substract amount of Nacl represented by amomorphine hydrochloride from amount of Nacl alone
so 0.9-0.14=0.76
Answer=0.76 grams
