How do you feel about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) initiatives? Discuss ways a community nurse can help with the goals.

Sustainable development goals initiatives considering all factors which can contribute to better health , living conditions and equity and aim is to ensure that environment is integrated in all aspects of sustainable development .

Equity not only of money or financial but also providing good health , clean water , quality education, gender based and of decent work and economic growth is considered in sustainable development goals which i personally feel very important step toward overall development because such goals give hope that no one is left behind and environment is integrated in all aspects of development ensuring that every individual has right of good food , good education, good health and other services and not limited to any specific group or class of people. Thus the goals in sustainable development goals initiatives give hope and if condition is considered and step is taken by this initiative then achievement of goals will also occur ,may take time but it was necessary to take initiative and i personally feel it as very good initiative toward equity and overall development.

Community nurse can play very important role in achieving this goals as community nurse interacting with people of community can help them and also contribute in achievement of goals by

1) Providing health education regarding health and how they can reduce risk of disease by doing simple things such as importance of handwashing , personal hygiene and cleanliness in surrounding

2) Educate mothers and pregnant women regarding importance of breastfeeding , intake of nutrients before during and also after pregnancy ,to reduce risk of child hospitalization also to promote good health to both mother and child

3) explain the importance of drinking clean water and how they can clean it by simple methods at home by boiling water before storing , use of allum to settle dust particles

4) Educate about demerits of adolescent pregnancy and child marriages , how it can affect the health of mother and child also affect the whole family development

5) Encourage education in family and its importance to whole family and how it can help in better health

6) Educate about use of contraceptive methods and complications of early pregnancy and importance of gaps of years between birth of child

Nurses mainly can contribute in sector of health and education regarding it also in explaining methods to get clean water

But in field of poverty , hunger ang gender equality less contribution is possible but still can contribute by---

Fundraising activities for people who have less availability to resources.

Promote volunteering of community to provide food and stuffs which are of no use to them to others who need it

Explain the importance of equity and how education of women and their rights are equally important as of men

Explain how poverty can psychologically affect the financial stable person and to consider growth of others together with themselves for overall development of country , thus to contribute in their development .
