How does a nurse know what (if any) knowledge in a research study is usable for clinical practice? What would a critical thinker look for in the evidence before deciding to change? What influence do credibility and clinical significance have on your decisions to integrate research-based evidence into your practice?
Nurses have wide variety of experiences they gain as a nursing student and have a experience. Experience gain as a low to high level nursing professionals of immense value and acts as a contributing factor to their understanding that research study is usable to the clinical practice and experience results them to believe in research outcomes and encourages them to use in clinical practice to become the advocates of evidence based medicine.
Critical thinking is important for evidence based care and in clinical practice. Evidence based practice supports nursing positively and effectively to get better outcomes across different location and in settings. Critical thinker would look for credibility and effectiveness in the treatment.
Research based evidences influence by credbility and clinical siginificance. Research based evidence can be evaluated for credibility before integrating in to clinical practice. Clinical significance has a impact on study results on clinical practice which is proportional to patient outcomes. It can also be evaluated before integrating into clinical practice. Only in research based evidence number of patient outcomes will be integrated.
