Acquiring knowledge: this is the process in which a person would be gathering information about a subject or a person, in the form of information, description, facts, or skills either through education or through experiences. This would be either by discovering, perceiving or through learning.

Distributing knowledge: knowledge Transfer or distribution of knowledge is referred to as the process by which a person would be providing inputs for solving of a problem. knowledge distribution would be done through communication, e mail, capturing attention of people, meetings etc.

Retaining knowledge: knowledge retention is the process where a person would be capturing a part of information which could be used at a later time in the organisation, which occurs through formalised systems as well as external activities.
