Hospital sepsis is a important aspect in patient care. Sepsis is a leading cause of death around the world. The measures to prevent sepsis include:

(1). Hand washing: The most important step to prevent any infection is hand washing. Follow five strict hand washing techniques before and after touching patients,before and after doing any procedure,after contact with blood and body fluids

(2). Follow strict infection control policy and protocols regarding the isolation precautions

(3). Find and treat contagious infection as early as possible to prevent complications

(4). Infection control education regarding the disease process and how to manage and prevent spread of infection  

(5). Always use gloves while patient care especially during changing linen, cleaning.

(6). Use of personal protective equipment such as glove mask, goggles, face shield,shoe cover etc . Make sure these equipments are readily available for use.

(7). Proper cleaning of the patient room amd surfaces. Deep cleansing should be done once patient is discharged before receiving new patients, this will prevent contagious illness.

(8). Patient should be encouraged to wear slippers while walking inside the hospital.

(9). Change line daily basis or once it is visibly soiled . Linen fall on the floor should be send to cleaning department before using.

(10). Food should be provided with correct temperature. All equipment should be checked regularly to ensure food safey.
