Regarding feeding these children cannot normally suck so special feeding bottles and nipples should be used while feeding the baby
Provide information when the correction of cleft will be done. Generally it is done when the child is about 9-14 months or atleast before 18 months .This depends on the child's growth and development
Report if the child takes more than half an hour to complete a feed
If the baby coughs or has breath ing difficulty during feed ,stip feeding and seek medical help
Report in case of any abnormal findings to be assessed and cared for.
Provide psychological support and reassurance
