In Research Methods, when we say Literature Review is about illustration what does it mean?
Literature Review in a research is about educating the reader about advancements in the field prior to the current study. It explains other research done in the area and what it has been able to accomplish. For instance, if you talk about attention span, you would mention all research done in the area and what their observations were. You also illustrate the gaps in prior research and what could be improved upon or needs to be explored further. Basically, literature review is supposed to give the reader and idea about the area of study, hence it "illustrates" those things.
