What does it mean when we say privacy is a prudential right?
Privacy is the capacity of a person or group to stop sharing or
disclose data about itself if individuals stop revealing the data
in certain ways. Privacy is done to keep secrecy and also maintain
security and use of the information. With modern-day technologies
such as the Internet, social media, mobiles, big-data and others,
privacy nowadays for people is a big issue. It is very hard to
preserve privacy nowadays as several parties constant try to breach
the security and privacy of the common people.
When we say about privacy, by that we mean that when we grant or
should grant people the privacy and security, this kind of right
will have a net benefit to the society and thus it will be prudent
for the society and thus will give the members some privacy.
