Using Blake and Mouton's Leadership Grid, explain and discuss the leadership style displayed by management to the nursing staff .
The leadership grid includes . * Impovished management. * Authority-Compliance management. * Middle of the road management. * Country club management. * Team management. 1) Impovished management : These managers put minimum effort for work to be done. Nursing staff in this case put minimum effort to their work. 2) Country club management : managers are rated low on concern for production and high on concern for people. The nursing staff in this case place more emphasis on people within the work environment rather than to work output. Subordinate staff who are task oriented might be frustrated in this case. 3) Authority- Compliance management : These management style are high on concern for production and low on concern for people. The Nursing staff in this case belief their subordinate needs are unimportant but rather efficiency in their work is of high importance. 4) Middle - of the road management : managers are rated medium on concern for people and production. The Nursing staff in this case do not meet satisfactory levels either on concern for production and concern for people. 5) Team management: High score for both production and concern for people are obtained. The nursing staffs work together to achieve task and maintain good relationship with themselves and Patients. This is the best of all the five leadership grid of Blak and Mouton's.
