Provide an argument as to whether or not you believe North Carolina should expand Medicaid. Explain the pros and cons of your side of the argument. Consider the cost, quality, and access implications that Medicaid expansion may have on the state's healthcare system.
Expanding the North Carolina Medicaid program provides great
benefits to access health services that make a healthier
population. it helps low-income people to improve health outcomes
through access to health care services. it reduces the health
coverage gap for many individuals when they are at the poverty
level.
Pros: It provides economic security for low-income people, it is
greater savings and lower medical debt and bankruptcy, it provides
equitable access to care, it avoids poverty level.
Cons: In north Carolina rural areas there is unavailable of primary
care physicians to provide care for the patient. expanding medicare
increases the cost of the state budget each year. but north
Carolina general assembly first rejected federal dollars to expand
Medicaid for few years, later on, it expanded Medicaid for many
north Carolina to become eligible for the coverage for their
chronic conditions and it makes them living healthy. they closed
coverage gap for the people with quality care when the tax dollars
back into the state that provide coverage for many people.
