3. As a community health nurse what effective method will you utilize in order to provide health teachings/health education to families in a community where you are assign? Explain why?

Answer 1

The aim of community health education is to improve the health of the individuals by improving their knowledge or influencing their attitudes. Different methods can be used to provide health education in community settings and among them, 3 specific methods are :

* Individual method

* Group method

* Mass media method

From the above mentioned three methods I chose the group method to provide health education to the families in the community where I am assigned.

GROUP METHOD:

* It is the most convenient way of teaching

* It enables you to provide health education to six to twelve members at a time.

* Each members will get an opportunity to clarify their doubts and share their ideas

* This method helps to cover more topics within the time frame

* It is more practicable method compared to individual method

* This is an excellent method to provide health teaching for the family members at a time.

* Group method comprises of group discussions, demonstrations, brainstorming, role play,problem solving etc .
