C.            Consider your values for mean, median and mode listed above. Which is the largest?

Median is the largest value . 164.71

Discuss the similarities and differences among your three measures.

Which one of these measures of central tendency is most suitable for your data? Explain your choice.

Mean, median and mode are all different terms of central tendency or the average but they are all different from each other. A comparison of the three is therefore necessary.

It is usually inappropriate to use the mean in such situations where your data is skewed. You would normally choose the median or mode, with the median usually preferred

The median is the middle score for a set of data that has been arranged in order of magnitude. The median is less affected by outliers and skewed data

As per our data set median is the central tendency

Using the appropriate numbers from B above, make a box-and-whisker plot for your data.

What does this plot tell you about your data?

A box and whisker plot is a way of summarizing a set of data measured on an interval scale. It is often used in explanatory data analysis. This type of graph is used to show the shape of the distribution, its central value, and its variability.

In a box and whisker plot:

  • the ends of the box are the upper and lower quartiles, so the box spans the interquartile range
  • the median is marked by a vertical line inside the box
  • the whiskers are the two lines outside the box that extend to the highest and lowest observations

Formla reference:

STep-by step procedure to make boxplot

Select Boxplot lower, hidden and upper value and add 2ns stacked column. after that select switch row/colum option to bring all data into single stacked column

select top of the bar and add error bar through chart element. after adding choose "plus" option and add whisker top value
