In the case of the older adults, it is important that they should be focused on their lifestyle. Being a nurse, it is important to provide education, create awareness among the older adults as well as the ageing people to adopt healthy lifestyle. This could reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension etc. For a healthy ageing, it is important that at the early age, people should adopt healthy lifestyle. The nurse need to impart information, encourage clients to understand the benefits of having healthy lifestyle.

Some of the approaches to the promotion of healthy ageing are:

  • Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
  • Eat healthy foods.
  • Reduce the saturated fat intake.
