Using the context provided in the statement above, critically analyse your role as a registered nurse in empowering the older adult. In your response discuss current evidence-based approaches to the promotion of healthy ageing.
Answer: The healthy ageing process includes disease free life that could reduce the risk of diseases as well as enhances the living standards. In the case of the older adults, it is important that they should be focused on their lifestyle. Being a nurse, it is important to provide education, create awareness among the older adults as well as the ageing people to adopt healthy lifestyle. This could reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension etc. For a healthy ageing, it is important that at the early age, people should adopt healthy lifestyle. The nurse need to impart information, encourage clients to understand the benefits of having healthy lifestyle.
