In the wake of the covid-19 pandemic, the whole of the globe have been affected in a serious way and it is in this context and the context of good governnce that the contribution of the World Health Organisation has to be analysed. WHO has been on the forefront of fighting the disease taking the role of a global mentor in the same. It created a Covid-19 Response Fund for the international community to mobilise the international wealth for fighting the disease. Being the global leader of healthcare, it has been instrumental in making a strategic response and action plan in the intial stages of spread and thus evolved the strategy of 'Social distncing' and the initiatives like 'Break the chain' of using masks and sanitisers to.prevent the world from furthering the spread. It introduced the concept of 'Lockdown' which was later proven as the best strategy which was able to contain the spread and reduce the number of deaths cross the globe. As time progressed, complete lockdown caused many serious economic problems across the globe and it is in this juncture that the WHO strengthened the concept of social distancing and brought in many new strategies so as to continue with the normal life mode along with fighting the disease.
On the analysis of the above strategies that were adopted by the WHO in the international scenario, it can be formulated that they were accountable and transparent at every stages and were ooen to the nedia through which the international community were provided with the required information from time to time on how to contain the apread of the disease It has been lso instrumental in providing strength to the researches for the vaccine and thus has played a pivotal role in the healthcare sector too. The equity particiption thus proves that the concept of good governance is best suited for the actions of WHO in this regard.
