Imagine two proteins that move from the ER to the cis-Golgi. Protein X has a specific target region that binds to a protein in the membranes of vesicles bound for the cis-Golgi. Protein Y does not specifically bind, and passively diffuses into vesicles bound for the cis-Golgi. Compare the rate of movement of proteins X and Y from the ER to the cis-Golgi as a function of the concentrations of protein X and Y (a graph will be very helpful).
Translation: It is a process where m-RNA (messenger RNA) a final product of transcription is decoded to form proteins consisting of amino acids.
In ER, the protiens fold into their correct shapes and also get sugar moecules attached to it. Most of the protein moecules are transported to golgi bodies by membrane vesicles. In the golgi apparatus, the protein X which has specific protein targets undergo more modifications such as addition of sugar molecules or binding of the proteins to the membranes of the vesicles wher their movement is at random speed for performing more functions inside the golgi bodies. Proteins Y which do not possess any protein tags and do not possess any specific binding site, they are diffused from golgi bodies to the cell surface and are deliverd into plasma membrane by transporting vehicle.
Rate of movement of protein X is at constant level when compared with that of protein Y which gets diffuesed into the vessicle bound of golgi.
