Why is self plagiarism a form of cheating? Why is plagiarism cheating? give reason why they both are wrong

Should teachers allow students to use previous work from another class? why and why not

In Self-plagiarism, an author reuses one’s own material as a whole or partly when publishing a manuscript.

It is considered as cheating because

• The readers have the right to expect a new material at every reading, not a republication of an old one.
• Also, this practice is unethical and has legal implications ( called as copyright infringement)

Plagiarism which is the presentation of work of others as one’s own , is also interpreted as cheating owing to the following reasons

• it is a type of theft in which a person steals the intellectual wealth of someone.
• the plagiariser gets benefitted from this deed ,not the original author.
• The society which gets the service of such a wrong person will suffer ultimately.

Both plagiarism and self-plagiarism are wrong because

• These practices will ruin our future in our profession or field of service
• The society will lose its expectation in science and new discoveries.
• There will be legal implications

Teachers should not allow their students to use previous work from another class since such practice does not produce any growth in students..

Teachers can ask the students to refer the good work of ohers,but they should not do intellectual theft.
