What performance measures are identified in The National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators?
the national database of nursing quality indicators used 6 indicators for implementation.According to feasibility testing, initially a set of indicators are selected.they are falls, falls with injury, nursing care of patient hours per day, skill mix, pressure ulcer prevalence, hospital acquired pressure ulcer prevalence. the registered satff nurse job satisfaction indicator was tested and which was implemented in 2002 the job sstisfaction survey was conducted to identify job environment in order to retain staff nurse in job
1. main indicator used in National database quality indicator is nursing hours per patient and subndicator are registered nurse, licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personal and the resulted outcome is structued one.

there are 15 standard measurs have been identified by national database quality indicator of which 13 was implemented by national database quality indicator. 3 additional indicators are scheduled for implementation. implemented 13 measures of which 8 are national quality framework. national quality framework have process in order to endorse measures. they are consenses standard development, widespread review, memeber voting,member council approval, boards of directors action, evaluation.
the study also yielded a good respose on the higher staffing will lower incidence of patient and injury. there also strong corelation between the incidence of falls and skill mix, nursing hours. the pressure ulcer an dwound managemnet depends on the certification means the qualification of the staff. the higher qualification staff provide quality care to the individuals. there are various staff nurse elements that cause major effect on the patients outcome, they are skill mix, staff nurse, staff nursing processes. by the identification correlation between structures and outcome and observed nursing outcome causes major outcome and benefit in care of patient.there is also increase knowledge of staff increase outcome of patient.
