In your own words, what is quality improvement (QI) and risk management? How are they similar and different from each other? Discuss how the clinical nurse leader (CNL) makes a positive impact on QI initiatives in the healthcare setting. (CO:V)
Quality Improvement(QI): Quality improvement ia a systemic and formal approach to analyse the regular practices performed and the efforts to improve these regular practices performed in a systemic maner and setting protocols for each and every procedure.In this way the quality of service rendered and the standard of the institution or Hospital will greatly improve.
Risk Management: Risk management is a planned process of preparing the ward or system including health care personnel for possible or potential risks,problems or emergencies that can be anticipated in a particular area.Risk management involves identification of risks,measure the sevearity of the risk,find solutions,implement these solutions and finally get feedback on how these solution's really solved the risks.
Quality Improvement and risk management are more or less similar
in the planning system,analysis of the problem,finiding
solutions,preparationof the area of work as well the health care
professionals.This inturn
helps to improve the quality of care, improve the standard and keep
prepared to face any risks that can be anticipated.
A Clinical Nurse Leader ia responsible in
planning ,implementing and evaluating client care.This is done by
constant supervision,coordination and implementation of the care
provided by the health care team at all levels.
She not only sets as a role model but makes a positive impact on
improving the quality initiatives and sustaining the standard in
healthcare settings.
