What are the differences between quality assuranceand quality improvement/management?
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN QUALITY ASSURANCE(QA) AND QUALITY
IMPROVEMENT(QI):-
-Quality assurance (QA) measures compliance against certain
necessary standards. Quality improvement(QI) is a continuous
improvement process.
-QA is required and normally focuses on individuals, while QI is a
proactive approach to improve processes and systems.
-QA focuses on evaluating the problems at hand and also in making
changes that will help in providing a better quality of service to
the public, whereas QI focuses on making the changes needed
therefore this will include everyone who works within the
healthcare system.
QUALITY ASSURANCE BASICS:-
-One word that distinguishes quality assurance from other
quality control concepts is "confidence."
-QA is about giving confidence to potential buyers that production
processes are designed to optimize production and efficiency.
-mnfacturing can only offer this assurance if leaders are certain
themselves in specific control processes.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT BASICS:-
-QA is more concerned with the actual effectiveness of quality
controls and effective production processes.
-Companies that are concerned with maintaining a strong reputation
for quality must constantly look to improve on best practices for
production.
