What limits on firearms do you believe are constitutional? What laws would you propose regarding gun control? How do you think the public would react to your ideas?

The right to bear arms is inherent in the right of self-defense, defense of the family & defense against tyranny. It assures safety of life, liberty & property as well as helps in protecting independence. The right to keep arms is guaranteed by the second amendment of the constitution which cannot be infringed. If firearms like guns are outlawed only outlaws will have them. In this case the peaceful citizen’s protection against criminals may be seriously jeopardized. Also the purpose of the second amendment was to give the people a means of protecting themselves against the government if it ever became tyrannical, like what we observe toady.

Due to the prevalent culture of bearing firearms America has witnessed many horrific events involving the use of guns & sophisticated automatic weapons. In many cases it has been found that violent people & mentally disturbed people were having access to firearms. Therefore according to my view if restriction on possessing of firearms are imposed on people with a history of mental disturbance & violence it is constitutional. Protecting the right to keep and bear arms is not the same as forbidding all regulations on that right. We can protect that right and at the same time require background checks, permits, and training. We can regulate when, where, and what kinds of guns are allowed. In some cases, we can regulate who can obtain guns, imposing restrictions on, for instance, felons, the mentally ill, and known terrorists. We can ban firearms such as military-style assault weapons & sophisticated weapons. Assault weapons should be banned from sale in order to prevent future tragedies, because such a ban would be in compliance with the U.S. Constitution.

I think most of the people will agree with my ideas as they are not meant to infringe the right of people from possessing firearms but to effectively prevent its misuse & make people feel safe in their daily lives.
