" Do you think religions are necessary to bring up a citizen with better qualities and morales?"
Being brought up in a particular religion is not at all in our hands. Its something we can say purely fate. But, in due course of time, when we grow up we will start to raise questions about it as well. Though, we will always have some sort of fear deep inside ourselves to question these as its a matter of God. But, being doubtful is always a great quality to seek knowledge and answers. However, our religious leaders or priests will always teach us to be blind about all the rituals and beliefs.
After all, we all know that the basic aim or goal of all the religions is to promote prosperity, harmony and well being of all living beings. But, at the same time, we are always taught to believe in karma in some or the other way. Which means, if we do good, we always expect it to come to us in some other way. But, what if we are taught to help others or work for the betterment of an another individual unconditionally without expecting anything? How beautiful it would be? How great it would have been if we get satisfied by the happiness of an another individual without gaining anything else?!
This is something most of our religions fail to teach us. Instead, we all are taught to do something with the expectations of better outcomes to ourselves. So, it means, eventually we are doing it for our betterment than others. And i solemnly request you not to misinterpret my statements too. What i am trying to say is not to be a monk or work selflessly for the entire life. But, to focus on the direct outcomes of the few good deeds we do in our life.
And, there are many groups of people who don't believe in any religions but they live their life to the fullest by being productive and helpful to the society. At the same time there exist many criminals who are hardcore believers of religions. It reveals the factor that, to be good its not at all necessary to be a spiritual or faithful person. Being faithful or spiritual will never cause any harm but will bring prosperity as well. But it should never be considered as a mask or short cut to end up in a wrong path. Because, from childhood itself we all knowingly or unknowingly been taught that being religious is a core factor to be a good person. But trust me guys, its not just that.
We are always subjected to see god in our every day life. But unfortunately we are made blind to witnesses them. We are literally living in a world full of gods living around us. But we are deceived to believe in something we have never seen, while we are too lucky to witness him/her/it now and then. A beggar who helps a women from a group of people who were about to assault her turns out to be the god to her that day. If this same girl helps an another person who met with an accident becomes god to that person. As a cycle it will go on and on.
And my friends, I seriously don't know why this topic has been of so much importance to me. I used to be a highly religious guy once. But, at some point of life i started to change and and now this is me! But i won't say this is the last of me. There are yet more things to happen in my life which can lead to more adverse or better changes. Thank you.
