Impressionism can be considered as an art movement. It got started in 19th century. Smaller brush strokes are its characteristic features. These strokes of brush remains thin to an extent so that only image can become visible. Accurate depiction of light is also a remarkable feature of this art form.

This art movement caused great impact on modern art forms. Development of abstract art is also being credited to impressionism. Various colors and designs are being used for presentation of different different emotions. Open compositions can also be seen dominantly in art work of impressionism.

There is a famous painting with the name "Paris street, rainy day". This is an art form depicting the impressionist form of painting. Various critics have praised this painting. It shows the Paris of 19th century. Colour combination is so suitable that image seems to be real.
