I have "preferred provider organisation" (PPO) insurance

The deductibles are the amount that we pay to the service providers before we avail the service

Example: Joan's plan for deductible Is $1500 and he have paid 100% of eligible health expenses, and he availed medical services of $1500. Later the remaining medical expenses was shared among himself and coinsurance.

Generally plans with high monthly premiums have low deductibles and plans with low monthly premiums have high deductibles

The important points that you should know about the health insurance are:

  • The risks covered in the scheme
  • How much money and what types of benefits can be availed,if claimed.
  • What are the deductibles
  • What policy does cover
  • What policy does not cover
  • How is policy premiums determined
  • What are the restrictions on preexisting conditions
  • Does the plan includes current doctors
  • Does it cover routine examinations
  • What is the process of claiming
  • Is the insurer financially stable
